Kathryn Nielsen-Dube (NEWCA Chair) is a lecturer in the Communication Arts and Sciences department at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts where she also serves as the Associate Director of the Writing Center. She is a doctoral candidate at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Kathryn’s research interests include Adult and Transformative Learning, Rhetoric and Composition, Critical and Constructivist Theory, and Second Language Writing.

Michelle Deal is a PhD student (ABD) in the English Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst; her research analyzes response-revision rounds of tutors and their tutees. As a doctoral candidate, Michelle worked as an Assistant Director of the UMass Writing Center and as the Acting Coordinator of the Speaking, Arguing, and Writing Program at Mount Holyoke College.
